Kattankudy: The entire country is experiencing a bad weather these days. The flood situation in Batticaloa district has worsened due to the prevailing adverse weather experienced in the areas. The flood situation has seen no improvement as continuous rains lashed the area over the last two weeks, according to met department 117.5 litres of rainfall has been recorded yesterday in Batticaloa district. Wind has been blowing at the speed of up to 40-60 Km per hour.

While MFCD Kattankudi collecting the flood related data’s and assessing the situation is planning to implement the following activities in the flood affected areas.

 • Cooked food (Dinner and Breakfast)

• De-watering 

• Distribute diary foods & sanitary items for children.

• Conduct medical camps
